Core Governance Areas

Three Pillars of Compliance

Our regulations ensure fair competition and participant safety across all disciplines. Key areas include yacht specifications, rowing rules, and fell running protocols.

Yacht Specifications

Rowing Protocol

Fell Running Safety

Adherence to World Sailing Offshore Special Regulations Category 2 is mandatory. Includes structural integrity, stability, and safety equipment.

Engine use is strictly prohibited for propulsion. Teams must be prepared for manual rowing under specific tidal and weather conditions.

Mandatory mountain safety kit, navigation gear, and strict route adherence ensure runner safety on Snowdon, Scafell Pike, and Ben Nevis.

Race Philosophy

Respect the Irish Sea tides and highland weather, because neither will bend for your team.

The race demands absolute preparedness and self-reliance. Your team's tactical navigation and endurance seamanship are your primary assets against the elements.

Essential Equipment

Mandatory Gear: Ocean & Summit

Ocean Survival Kit

From life rafts to flares, every yacht must carry a full complement of ocean survival gear. Regular checks ensure compliance with World Sailing standards.

Summit Mountain Kit

Personal mountain kit includes waterproofs, navigation tools, emergency shelter, and headlamps. Each runner's pack is inspected at checkpoints.
